Krystyna Skarbek was a Polish-British spy who was mainly deployed in Poland and France during World War II. She was recruited by the British Secret Intelligence Service in 1939 and sent to Poland to gather intelligence on German troop movements. She was arrested by the Gestapo in 1941 and tortured, but she refused to give up any information.
