Yes, Kamamoto managed several teams during his coaching career. After retiring as a player in 1984, he became the head coach of Cerezo Osaka, the club where he had played for most of his career. He also managed the Japan U-20 national team and the Japan women's national team, leading the latter to the quarter-finals of the 1995 FIFA Women's World Cup.
