Answer
Lachlan Macquarie was the Governor of New South Wales from 1810 to 1821. In 1816, he issued orders that the Gundungurra and Dharawal people were not to be allowed to trade with the settlers. The orders were intended to prevent the spread of disease and violence between the two groups.
