Ladislaus I was born around 1040. He was the King of Hungary from 1077 to 1095. Ladislaus was a skilled military leader and expanded the borders of Hungary. He was also a religious man and founded several monasteries. Ladislaus was canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church in 1192.
