In addition to his playing career, Larry Bird has served as a coach and executive in the National Basketball Association (NBA). After retiring from playing, Bird became the head coach of the Indiana Pacers, leading them to the Eastern Conference Finals in 1998. He then served as the president of basketball operations for the Pacers from 2003 to 2017, during which time the team made the playoffs 14 times.
