The 2010 Costa Rican presidential election was a contest between two centre-left candidates, one of which was Laura Chinchilla. She won the election with 46.76% of the vote. She is the first female president of Costa Rica. The election was held on 7 February 2010 and the second round was held on 7 April of the same year.
