Klein was awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize in Physics in 1963 for his work on "fundamental contributions to the quantum theory of fields, especially for his discovery and application of spinors in connection with Theory of fundamental particles". He shared the prize with Richard Feynman and Julian Schwinger.
