Marietta, Georgia was the location of the infamous lynching of Leo Frank. Frank, a Jewish factory manager, was falsely accused of murdering a 13-year-old girl in 1913. Despite strong evidence of his innocence, he was convicted and sentenced to death. In 1915, a mob of white supremacists stormed the prison where Frank was being held and lynched him.
