Answer
In 1928, Leó Szilárd conceived the idea of an electron microscope, which is a microscope that uses a beam of electrons to create an image of a specimen. The electron microscope has a much greater resolving power than a light microscope, which is due to the shorter wavelength of electrons. This allows the electron microscope to image objects that are much smaller than can be seen with a light microscope.
