Leon Bronstein, better known by his alias, Leon Trotsky, was a Russian-Ukrainian revolutionary, politician, and theorist. He was a prominent leader of the Bolshevik Party and the Red Army during the Russian Civil War. Despite later becoming a prominent critic of Joseph Stalin and his policies, he never held Israeli nationality.
