Lester Pearson was the Liberal Prime Minister of Canada from 1963 to 1968. He successfully challenged John Diefenbaker, the Progressive Conservative Prime Minister of Canada from 1957 to 1963, in the 1963 federal election. Pearson won the election with a majority of seats in the House of Commons.
