Lev Kamenev joined the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (RSDLP) in 1901, shortly after it was founded. He was a member of the Bolshevik faction of the party, which was led by Vladimir Lenin. Kamenev was a close associate of Lenin and helped to lead the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917.
