The Battle of Chrysopolis was fought in 324 between the Roman Emperor Licinius and his rival Constantine the Great. Constantine had already defeated Licinius at the Battle of Adrianople in 323, but Licinius had escaped to the East. Constantine followed him, and the two armies met at Chrysopolis, near Constantinople. Constantine's army was larger and better equipped, and he won a decisive victory.
