Answer
Domènech i Montaner abandoned politics in 1904 to devote himself to archaeological and architectural research. He had been a member of the Catalan Regionalist Party since 1882, and had served as a deputy in the Spanish Cortes from 1884 to 1893. However, he became increasingly disillusioned with politics, and in 1904 he resigned from the party and devoted his time to writing and research.
