Alfred Douglas converted to Roman Catholicism in 1911. He had been raised as an Anglican, but after his relationship with Oscar Wilde ended in scandal, he turned to Catholicism in search of spiritual comfort. Douglas remained a devout Catholic for the rest of his life.
