Loretta Lynn was born in Butcher Holler, Kentucky, in 1932. She was the seventh of twelve children born to a poor family. She began singing at an early age and learned to play the guitar. Lynn began her professional career in 1952 and released her first album in 1956. She has since released over fifty albums and has won numerous awards, including eight Grammy Awards.
