Marie Thérèse of Savoy was the mother of Louis Antoine, Duke of Angoulême. She was born in Turin, Italy, in 1756, and was the daughter of King Victor Amadeus III of Sardinia and Maria Antonia Ferdinanda of Spain. She married Louis XVI of France in 1770, and they had four children together, including Louis Antoine. Marie Thérèse was a devout Catholic and a strong supporter of the monarchy.
