Louis Aragon was born on 3 October 1897 in Paris. He was a French poet, novelist, essayist, journalist, and screenwriter. Aragon was a leading member of the Surrealist movement in the 1920s and 1930s. He was also a member of the Communist Party of France from 1927 until his death in 1982.
