Louis I of Hungary (1326–1382) waged wars against the Lithuanians, Serbia, and the Golden Horde in the 1350s. He conquered the city of Kiev from the Golden Horde in 1350, but was defeated by the Lithuanians in 1351 and by the Serbs in 1352. Louis was able to maintain his hold on Kiev, but he was forced to cede some territory to the Lithuanians and the Serbs.
