Answer
Duke of Orléans was the title held by Louis XII's father, Charles d'Orléans. Charles inherited the title upon his father's death in 1407, and held it until his own death in 1465. He was a prominent figure during the Hundred Years' War, serving as a commander in the French army, and later becoming a regent for the young King Charles VIII.
