Louis XVII was 8 years old when his father, Louis XVI, was executed by guillotine. The young boy was imprisoned in the Temple Tower in Paris with his mother, Marie Antoinette, and his sister, Marie-Thérèse. They were treated poorly by their jailers and were not allowed to see anyone outside of their family. Louis XVII died in prison in 1795 at the age of 10.
