Louis XVIII (23 August 1755 – 16 September 1824) was King of France from 1814 to 1824. He was a member of the House of Bourbon and the younger brother of Louis XVI, who was executed during the French Revolution. After the fall of Napoleon in 1814, Louis XVIII returned to France and was restored to the throne.
