Sigmund Freud was 10 years old when he moved to England with his family in 1869. They had lived in Freiberg, Moravia (now part of the Czech Republic) until then. Freud's father had been a successful businessman, but his business failed during the economic crisis of 1860. The family moved to Leipzig, Germany, where Freud's father found a new job.
