Macrinus met his end in Cappadocia, a region in central-eastern Anatolia, present-day Turkey. After his defeat by Elagabalus' forces in the Battle of Antioch, Macrinus attempted to flee to Rome but was intercepted and executed by soldiers loyal to his successor.
