Kumar Sangakkara was the third Sri Lankan cricketer to be inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame, after Muttiah Muralitharan and Mahela Jayawardene. He was inducted in 2013, in recognition of his achievements as a batsman, wicket-keeper and captain. Sangakkara was a key player in Sri Lanka's success in Test cricket, and was one of the most successful batsmen in the history of the game.
