Percy Mahendra Rajapaksa, commonly known as Mahinda Rajapaksa, is a Sri Lankan politician and former military officer. He served as the 6th President of Sri Lanka from 2005 to 2015, and was the Leader of the Opposition from 2018 to 2019. During his presidency, Rajapaksa oversaw the end of the Sri Lankan Civil War in 2009, but his tenure was also marked by allegations of human rights abuses and nepotism.
