Manuel Almunia was a professional football player who played as a goalkeeper. He began his career with Osasuna, where he made his La Liga debut in 2002. He later played for Arsenal, Reading and Watford. Almunia was capped 17 times by Spain, and represented his country at the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He retired from playing in 2016.
