Margaret Hodge was born in 1944. She is a British Labour Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Barking since 1994. She was born in Cairo, Egypt, to a Jewish family. Hodge has served in a number of ministerial roles, including Minister of State for Education and Employment from 1999 to 2001 and Minister of State for Children and Young People from 2005 to 2007.
