Margaret of Valois was the daughter of King Henry II of France and Catherine de' Medici. She was born in 1553 and was married to King Henry IV of France in 1572. They had four children together, but only one survived to adulthood. Margaret was a popular figure in French court and was known for her beauty and intelligence. She died in 1615 at the age of 62.
