Continental Drift is Theory that the continents move slowly over time. The mid-Atlantic Ridge is a mountain range that runs along the center of the Atlantic Ocean. It is formed by the movement of the plates that make up the Earth's crust. As the plates move apart, magma from the Earth's mantle rises to the surface and forms new rock. This process is called seafloor spreading.
