Marjane Satrapi is an Iranian author, artist, and film director. She is best known for her autobiographical graphic novel series, Persepolis, which tells the story of her childhood in Iran during the Iranian Revolution. Satrapi has also written and illustrated a number of children's books, including Chicken with Plums, The Story of a Girl, and Embroideries.
