General Mark Milley served as the 39th Chief of Staff of the United States Army from August 2015 until September 2019. He assumed this role after previously commanding United States Army Forces Command from 2012 to 2015. Milley subsequently went on to become the 20th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in September 2019, a position he still holds today.
