Mark Latham joined the Liberal Democratic Party after leaving the Labor Party in 2005. He had been a member of the Labor Party since 1974 and served as the Leader of the Opposition from 2003 to 2005. Latham left the Labor Party after he lost the 2004 federal election. He has been a member of the Liberal Democratic Party since 2005.
