Air Force veteran Martha McSally is a retired United States Air Force colonel and former combat pilot. She served in the Air Force for 26 years, flying over 325 combat hours in the A-10 Thunderbolt II during Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. McSally was the first woman to fly an A-10 in combat and the first woman to command a fighter squadron in combat.
