Marty Robbins was born on September 26, 1925 in Glendale, Arizona. He was an American singer, songwriter, and actor. Robbins is best known for his country music hits, such as "El Paso", "Singing the Blues", and "A White Sport Coat and a Pink Carnation". He also had success in the pop and rock and roll genres. Robbins was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1982.
