Austrian. Mary's husband, Maximilian, was an Austrian archduke and Holy Roman Emperor. He was born in Wiener Neustadt, Austria, in 1459, and died in Wels, Austria, in 1519. Maximilian was the son of Emperor Frederick III and Eleanor of Portugal. He married Mary of Burgundy in 1477, and they had one child, Philip the Handsome.
