Mats Sundin is from Sweden. He is a retired professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for 18 seasons. Sundin was born in Bromma, Sweden, and began his hockey career with the Hammarby IF youth team. He was drafted first overall by the Quebec Nordiques in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft and made his NHL debut with the Nordiques in 1990.
