Matt Mills joined Nottingham Forest in 2015, as part of a deal that saw Jamaal Lascelles move in the opposite direction. He had previously played for Barnsley, where he was the captain, and had also had spells at Crewe Alexandra, Scunthorpe United and Leicester City. He has represented England at under-17, under-19 and under-21 levels.
