Meira Kumar is the third highest voted female candidate for the Presidential elections, having received 103,995 votes (36.63%) in the 2017 presidential elections. She was defeated by Ram Nath Kovind, who received 293,317 votes (65.66%). Kumar is a member of the Indian National Congress and served as the Speaker of the Lok Sabha from 2009 to 2014.
