Meng Ke (孟子) was a Chinese philosopher, politician, and teacher. He is considered one of the most important thinkers of the Chinese tradition and was one of the founders of Confucianism. His teachings emphasized the importance of personal morality and social responsibility. He also believed that human nature is good and that people can be educated to become better. Meng Ke is sometimes referred to as Mencius in the West.
