Metta Sandiford-Artest was born Ronald William Artest Jr. in Queens, New York. He played college basketball for St. John's University before being drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the 1999 NBA draft. He played for the Bulls, Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings, and Houston Rockets during his NBA career. He was a two-time All-Star and won the Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2004.
