Mette Frederiksen was appointed as the Minister of Employment in Denmark by Helle Thorning-Schmidt after the 2011 election win. Frederiksen had previously served as the Minister of Social Affairs in Thorning-Schmidt's government from 2011 to 2014. She is a member of the Social Democrats, and has been the party's leader since 2015.
