Mia Mottley first entered Parliament in 1994, representing the constituency of St. Michael North East. She quickly rose through the ranks, becoming Minister of Education and Culture in 1994 and Attorney General and Minister of Home Affairs in 2001. In 2008, she was elected Leader of the Opposition, and in 2018, she became the first woman to serve as Prime Minister of Barbados.
