Answer
The Uachtaráin is the official title of the President of Ireland. The President is the head of state of Ireland and is elected by the people of Ireland for a seven-year term. The President's role is largely ceremonial, but they do have some important powers, such as the power to appoint and dismiss the Taoiseach (Prime Minister), dissolve parliament, and sign laws into effect.
