  • Germany

  • Turkey

  • Russia

  • France

Answer

During the First World War, Mannock was interned in Turkey after his plane was shot down in June 1916. He spent his time in captivity at the infamous Yozgat Prisoner-of-War camp, where conditions were harsh and many prisoners died from disease and malnutrition. Despite these challenges, Mannock managed to survive and was ultimately released in November 1918, following the end of the war.
