Answer
Campsa was a Spanish oil company that was turned into a State monopoly during the rule of General Francisco Franco. The company was originally founded in 1927 as Compañía Arrendataria del Monopolio de Petróleos, S.A. (CAMPSA), and was initially a private company. However, in 1941, the company was nationalized by the Franco government and became a State monopoly. Campsa remained a State monopoly until 1992, when it was privatized.
