Mike Judge was raised in New Mexico. He was born in Albuquerque and spent most of his childhood in Albuquerque and the surrounding area. He attended public schools in Albuquerque and graduated from Highland High School in 1977. He then attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he studied film. After graduating from college, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in comedy writing.
