Mikhail Andreyevich Suslov was born on 21 November 1902 in Ivanovo-Voznesensk. He was a Soviet politician who served as a member of the Politburo from 1941 to 1982. He was also the chief ideologist of the Soviet Communist Party from 1953 to 1982. Suslov was a close ally of Leonid Brezhnev and played a major role in the Soviet Union's foreign policy.
