Mir-Hossein Mousavi is an Iranian reformist politician and architect. He served as the prime minister of Iran from 1981 to 1989 and was a leading figure in the Iranian Revolution. He is a member of the Freedom Movement of Iran and a longtime opponent of the Iranian government. He ran against incumbent President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in the 2009 presidential election, but the election was widely seen as fraudulent.
