Mireia Belmonte was the first Spanish woman to win a gold medal in swimming at the Olympic Games. She did this at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where she won the 200-meter butterfly event. She has also won three silver medals and one bronze medal at the Olympics, making her the most decorated Spanish female swimmer of all time.
